Affordable meeting rooms in Madrid: what you actually need to know
If you work for yourself or run a small business, you know the situation well. You've got an important client meeting, a job interview, a coaching session, or an investor pitch. The local café isn't going to cut it (too loud, that espresso machine that roars every two minutes), your flat isn't really an option, and meeting at the client's office feels a bit much.
You need a meeting room. But you also don't want to pay what a whole office costs just for an hour-long video call.
The good news is that Madrid has plenty of reasonable options. The slightly less good news is that prices and conditions vary wildly, and it's not always easy to know what you're actually paying for. Here's what we've learned after years running a coworking space in Delicias and welcoming hundreds of professionals looking for exactly that: a decent place, no surprises, at a price that doesn't sting.
What to check before booking (and most places don't tell you)
The hourly price isn't everything. A €15/hour room can end up costing you more than a €25/hour one if the first charges extra for WiFi, the screen, coffee, and has a three-hour minimum. Before you book, ask what the rate actually includes.
The tech setup makes a real difference. If you're doing a video call with an important client, you need more than a laptop webcam. A proper conference camera (Logitech-type), a microphone that picks up voices from anywhere in the room, and a big screen so everyone can see the presentation properly. Without these, the meeting loses its professional edge no matter how well you've prepared.
The WiFi is non-negotiable. Ask about the real speed, not the theoretical one. A connection that drops mid-interview or mid-negotiation is a disaster.
Location matters more than you'd think. A super-cheap room 40 minutes by metro from the centre might cost you a client who decides not to bother travelling. Near Atocha, Sol, or Gran Vía will always be easier on everyone.
The vibe of the place. Arriving at a cold meeting room with fluorescent lighting and tired IKEA furniture doesn't help close a deal. Well-designed spaces (natural light, plants, decent materials) create a different feeling, and people notice.
What a meeting room actually costs in Madrid
To give you a realistic idea of the market in 2026:
Rooms in traditional business centres: between €30 and €50/hour. Usually quite formal, well-equipped, but sometimes a bit impersonal.
Rooms in coworking spaces: between €15 and €30/hour. This is where you tend to find the best value, especially in independent coworkings rather than big chains.
Hotel meeting rooms: between €50 and €150/hour, better suited for larger meetings or formal events.
Full-day rates: usually between €120 and €250, and worth it if you need the room for more than 5-6 hours.
A small tip: many coworkings offer a full-day rate. If your meeting will run longer than three hours, the day rate is almost always cheaper.
Area's meeting rooms, in case they fit
At Area we have three meeting rooms for up to 8 people, in the Delicias neighbourhood and a 20-minute walk from Atocha. We use them ourselves, and we've kitted them out with what we actually want when we have an important call: Logitech cameras, 50" Samsung screens, properly fast WiFi, and handmade tables from local artisans that give the rooms a bit more soul.
The rate is €25+VAT per hour, or €160+VAT for the full day (9am to 7pm). If you're a coworking member, you get a substantial discount.
And yes, there's free coffee and tea. And you can bring your dog.
To wrap up
Finding a meeting room in Madrid doesn't have to be painful. Compare, ask what each rate includes, and prioritise a place that's well-connected, well-equipped, and has a decent atmosphere. Your meeting will thank you for it, and so will you.
If you fancy popping by to see our rooms before deciding, come for a coffee and we'll show you around. No pressure 😊
